| Sturgis Ski Hill |
|
Located
on the south side of town, the ski hill is part of the Sturgis &
District Regional Park, overlooking the natural wilderness setting
of the Assiniboine River Valley. The ski chalet, with its natural
wood fireplace (for added warmth) offers up to date rentals and groomed
runs, all at a very reasonable price. An electric tow cable effortlessly
whisks skiers up to the top to the hill. |
| Sturgis Museum |
The CNR Station was
closed in 1984, after 72 years of service. In November, 1986 the station
was moved to its present location on railway avenue, overlooking
the Assiniboine River Valley (a block south of Highway 9/49).
Pioneer Day machinery relates the history of the pioneers of the area. Attractions and exhibits includes a pioneer dining room and parlor, Station Master room and equipment, pioneer classroom, home made tools, War Veteran exhibit, general store, dentist office, barber shop and much more. There is also a special arrowhead collection. The
Sturgis Station House Museum season opens yearly June 1st to August
31st, seven days a week from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Throughout each museum
season demonstrations and tours are available for any clubs, organizations
and schools. Last Sunday of each season has become a traditional "Family
Fun Day" offering a variety of local entertainment and a feast of
homemade fresh clay oven bread and homemade jam or jelly. |

| Sturgis
is the lacrosse capital of Saskatchewan, winning the Provincial Championship
12 times over the past 15 years. |

| The
Assiniboine Gun Club offers target shooting, offering a indoor and a
outdoor range. |
Sturgis Regional Park
